Hi Sandi, thanks for the words! I lived and worked in Seattle for some years, and did some business trips to Canada.

One time I went to Victoria to train some people on some software I helped to create. I took the ferry from Seattle, awesome and beautiful trip. When I got to Victoria the owner of the company met me at the dock and gave me the keys to his new Mercedes SL Coupe. He booked me a suite in one of the best hotels in town and was thankful I came. The 3 days of training I did was great, best business trip ever. Canadians are awesome!

Where have you traveled to, and what was it like? Where will you go next?

Cheers!

Richard

Hi Alex,

Thank you for the reply. After I figure out South America I am headed for Europe. Let me know if you are headed this way, I have an extra room here and maybe we can reciprocate.

My next ridiculous plan is to import my Hot Rod 1998 Lincoln Mark 8 to Brazil and drive up and down the continent to avoid illegal alien status

Cheers!

Richard

Hey People,

I'm a big fan of Tangentially Speaking and Chris. I'm about the same age as him and lived my life much like he did. I thought I was just weird to want to travel all the time, but after listening to his stories on the podcast i think his reasoning was sound and I think mine was too.

I started out living near Seattle, in small towns out in the farming districts. Lived in Australia from years 6 - 10 and was home schooled by my Mom the last 2 years we were there. We came back and I did 8 schools in 6 states for about 2 years. My father's work decided where we stayed. We returned to the Seattle area after that.

I became first mate on a Salmon troller when I was 12, my dad hooked me up with the job, probably illegal today. We fished from the Canadian border to the California border. The captain of my boat became TV famous for rowing a boat from Washington to Hawaii. I did that for 4 summers, until I left home.

Since then I have lived in California, north and south for 8 years. Hawaii for 8 years, Japan for 8 years and Brazil for about a year and a half. I'm a digital nomad now, doing software and sales from my home office / laptop. I've made millions writing and selling software. I lost millions too. I've also taught English in foreign countries when money was tight.

I'm not far from Sao Paulo, in Jundiai. It's pronounced jun-jai-ee for some unknown reason. It's at about 500 meters above the sea, so the weather is almost always perfect, surrounded by mountains but still has 350,000 people. I was able to rent a house here in a decent neighborhood for about $250 a month. I like it here, the people are cool  and there is a sense of family and community here that is great.

That's my intro, write back and tell me your story if you like. Or just start talking and get a tangential conversation going ;-)

Richard
